Today a fearsome threesome braved a bright but cold morning to run a not Harrop Wood Harry. The 5 mile ad-hoc route included Oakenbank Lane, Waulkmill Wood & White Nancy. Lots of mud, ice and water.
A blog to keep the members of Macclesfield Harriers Trail Group (Saturday 9.00am Trail Running session) informed about our future runs. We run at a pace of 8m30s -11m00s/mile and have a standard run of about 4-6 miles (depends upon terrain) and also longer runs. Ideally you should be capable of running 5k in under 30 minutes to run with the Trail group. If you want to try out the Saturday group contact group leader Neil Gunn at neil.gunn@gmail.com or just come along for a run!

Saturday 16th November - Bridges Ridges and Canals
After a quick warm up, the group headed along the Middlewood Way and over their first bridge to the canal and their second, before running across the farm track.
After a quick horse pat, the group continued to "Neil's hill". The first diversion of the route was taken as we decided to climb the side path where the old gravity lifts for the quarry used to reside.
A flat run back to the footpath to the ridge, saw the second and perhaps most exciting diversion, especially for the runners with us, who had never seen such a thing......the elephant stone!
Once the excitement died down, we headed over to White Nancy and then back down round the Redway to the farm track to Tinkers Clough.
The group then headed back along the Middlewood to finish.
A particularly jolly run.
Thanks All
Mel and Andy ( guest "leader" Dave W ).
