D group part of Macclesfield Harriers & A.C. (MH&AC) - the group is one of 5 groups organised by the club
The
intention is that runners will move on from the group into
one of the other groups offered by the club. More details about
MH&AC running groups can be found HERE.
Although
the club name of MH&AC sounds daunting you will find it to be a
friendly and inclusive club. There are four main sections to the club
(Track & Field, Road Running, Fell Running & Cross Country).
To
run with the club and to represent the club in events you must be a
club member. Club membership details are on the club website. The club passes the affiliation "levy" to
England Athletics (EA) for each competing member and this money allows
EA to support and develop athletics across England (the club benefits
from their services).
The advantages of being a competing club member:
1. Access to track training and coaching sessions
2. Reduced entry fees for EA events (eg 5k, 10k, half-marathon)
3. Representing the club and being 'part of something' that benefits the local community
4. Ability to train and improve with like minded runners
5. Contact with runners from other disciplines who can introduce you to new things!

It
is important to understand that if you are NOT a competing club member
you must run as an 'unattached' runner and normally pay a higher entry
fee (this provides insurance). As a 'competing member' you pay a reduced
fee and are insured.
Please contact Julian Brown (membership) or any of the MH&AC club officials for more information.
