Saturday 30th January - Canalside Cracker

Meeting Place
Today on a cold and cloudy morning, thirteen runners congregated in the Skate Park for a Canalside Cracker.

An initial burst down the Middlewood, led by Harry "the metronome" Newton, to School Fold Lane, then across to the canal, back up to Tinkers Clough.

Minimal looping or circling required today, although well done to those who did!  There was also minimal mincing through the mud, an overall good steady run.

Well done everyone

Saturday 23rd January - Twisted Hollins Hobble

A great turnout this morning - 17 runners! Welcome to Sue who joined us for the first time today.

A lovely but challenging run along the canal from the garden centre, then up and over the Hollins (mud! mud! and more mud!). Down into Sutton and up the very steep field! Amazing looping by some people! Around the Parvey Lane loop and then a couple of little fartlek sprints on the home straight! Brilliant running everyone - well done!

Saturday 16th January - Gawsworth Gallop

The start
Today we woke up to find low temperatures, sunshine, frost and the prospect of a 'Gawsworth Gallop' - 11 D groupers donned their gear and set off from the Harrington Arms across frozen fields for a 'mixed terrain' run. The conditions were 'challenging' with the frozen ground doing a good job of trying to twist the ankles but everybody took care and we all returned to base unscathed. The views were stunning ...we are so lucky!

Brilliant run, good looping, good banter, good days.
