Saturday 25th March - Bollin Valley Bash

Meeting Place
Today, 16 D groupers set out on a glorious sunny crisp spring-like morning for a Bollin Bash.

After a hopping warm up in Riverside Car park, we headed up the Bollin Valley, which was much drier than earlier in the week and around Prestbury Village, across the golf course and through Tytherington.

Finally the group crossed Manchester Road to head back to  the Middlewood Way and our starting point for a 5.5mile route.

Good looping, comradery and running.

Well done everyone.

Saturday 18th March - Gawsworth Gavotte

The start
21 D group runners were out today for a run around Gawsworth, North Rode & Bosley. A mix of fields, canal, track & road. The weather was kind (it rained after we finished) and the mud was not too bad. Well run everybody (good banter & looping).

Saturday 11th March - Shutlingsloe & Forest

Today 13 runners met at Trentabank Ranger Station for a run up Shutlingsloe via a lovely meander through the forest and 'nemesis' hill. We headed down off Shut,  across the moorland towards Standing Stone car park and then joined the trail paths back down to where we started!

It was a really good workout of about inbetween 5.4 and 6 miles [ depending upon how much looping was done!], including trail paths, cross-country, boggy fields, testing paving stones, pesky tree roots, a few puddles and a bit of  slippy slidey mud [of course!].

Brilliant running by everyone indeed!

Saturday 4th March Twisted Hollins Hobble

Today, 13 ( then 14 ) D runners ran the Twisted Hollins Hobble route, on a glorious winters morning. Starting at the Garden Centre, the run took us down the canal to Windmill Street then up to the golf club house and across over the Hollins, which provided some gorgeous views.

A very muddy traverse and a slippy downhill "sheep dodge", into Langley where we then took the hill twist up to meet Judy Lane. Another decent into Sutton village and a quick loop of Parvey Lane, then back to the cafe for some well deserved refreshments (and spectacular looking scones).

Well ran everyone, some brilliant mud faces and "hill dancing".
