Saturday 27th June - ParkRun/Marathon Relay/Fallibroome Frolic

Well done Kate Foster on a new PB at Astbury Mere (Congleton) Park Run this morning (in which fellow Macc Harrier Rob Hasler came first with a new PB of 17:42)!  I don't think anyone fancied the Boalloy Running Club Charity Marathon Relay today please correct me if I'm wrong!

The 3rd Option today was (Dangerous) Dave Jackson's Fallibroome Frolic.  A select group of 3 today to enjoy the beautiful views & lovely weather!  Here are a few photos.

Saturday 20th June - White Nancy Waterloo & Yellow Fundraising run

Today both D & E groups met at Clough Bank for a run to both commemorate the Waterloo celebrations and to raise money for the East Cheshire Hospice.

After admiring the array of tutu's tiaras and .....chickens, D group, headed down the Middlewood Way to Whitely Green and then back up the canal to Tinkers Clough. Woodpeckers, baby geese and a rather tame heron were spotted en route. Although the weather was "mizzly" it was warm and some really good effort was put in by all.

After frisky cow dodging, we all tackled Neils hill as a warm up to the main event. Not a single person stopped, what a brilliant achievement! Then a more cooling run before we all headed up White Nancy, where we saw another mass of yellow in E group!

After a few pictures we then headed along the ridge, down "the passage of doom" and back to Tinkers Clough ( avoiding the cows this time ). Dangerous Dave rejoined us for a Tai Chi inspired cool down.

Thanks to Twiggy for the photgraphy, Harry Dave and Fiona for the support.

All in all a brilliant run and  then the cake fest began.

You should all be really proud ( I was ).

Saturday 13th June - Canal Capers!

Today fourteen tenacious D groupers, braved the mizzly weather for a morning of canal capers.

Setting off from Hulley Road, we ran onto the canal heading toward Bollington, for a brisk straight run to Tinkers Clough.
With a winding bridge break in the middle of the straight, the group picked up pace with looping and circling to ensure we kept together. After some young cow dodging, we arrived at "Neils hill" for a couple of full hill reps.

We then took a scenic route across the fields and onto Swanscoe Lane, for a last hill up Well lane down Hurdsfield Road and back along the canal.

Really well done by all, an enjoyable run and welcome to a new face.

Hope to see you all next week.

Saturday 6th June - Fools Nook Folly

A lovely morning for a pretty canal run starting at the Macclesfield Garden Centre and going south down to Fools Nook.

We had a lovely group of 19 runners including 5 new members. After Fools Nook we crossed over the main road and climbed the hill then down into Sutton via the fields. There was lots of looping and circling to keep the group together. Coffee and teacakes were enjoyed by some of the group back at the garden centre. We ran 5.5 miles including the extension that you were all so enthusiastic about!

Thanks to Mel for leading and for the photos.

Well done everyone, we hope to see you all again soon.
