Saturday 30th September - Gritstone Gavotte

Hello Everyone

We had a gathering of 8 hardy D runners out for this morning's Gritstone Gavotte. The wet weather didn’t dampen our sprits with excellent running on some very muddy paths and fields, slippy roads and challenging undulations. We also had a nice interlude with the E groupers (see photo).

Well done to all for a tough run and we were rewarded afterwards for Scooby snacks (honestly, that is the name) and other breakfast items in the Ryles Arms.

Saturday 23rd September - Twisted Hollins Hobble

Today 17 D Groupers, headed out from Macclesfield Garden Centre on a dry breezy morning for the Twisted Hollins Hobble.

After a trip north up the canal path and a date with a slippy bridge, the group continued up up up, for a climb over The Hollins and an intake of the view.

After a bit of "mud mincing" and non compliant circling ( when the cat is away the mice misbehave ), there was a fun downhill followed by "The Twist" a cheeky incline up to Judy Lane.

Another down, then through Sutton and around Parvey Lane and it was back to the Garden centre for flapjack in the car park and refreshments in the cafe.

Well ran everyone. Lovely to see you all, with some returning faces and some new.

Saturday 9th September - Rudyard Romp

Today 17 D Groupers braved a huge downpour to run the Rudyard Round.

After a quick "shall we just go to the pub and talk about running", discussion, the group warmed up and set out down the railway line through epic volumes of mud and water.

A quick pit stop and consideration of a swim in the Lake being drier, the group headed off for the second half.

Some of group then headed off for a second reversed lap ( training for Cardiff and Lisbon half marathons ) whilst the rest of us headed back for coffee and cake - thank you Jenny B top marks!

Well ran everyone and welcome to Kirsty.
