Saturday 27th February - Round the Reservoir

Today, the splendid secret seven, met at Macclesfield Garden Centre for the 6 mile Round the Reservoir Route.

On a chilly, dry and clear morning, we set out along the canal at a brisk pace up to the bridge at Fools Nook for a quick bridge break pic stop and then up the Old Leek road onto Sutton Reservoir.

Passing many anglers and a small overspill, we completed the lake loop and headed into Suttton via the wooded path.

Passing through the village and onto Parvey lane, everyone made it back to the garden centre in a very respectable time indeed. Well done to Lynda who completed 16 miles, as part of her VLM training and definitely earned her ginger cake reward. A special mention for Simon, who as usual was king of looping.

A great  run, well done everyone!

Saturday 20th February - Congleton ParkRun (no leaders available)

Late changes of plan meant that people had already got their own runs sorted this morning. As it turned out only Ali & Mel were able to run.

A good session with fartlek on the Middlewood and canal ensued, whilst bird watching, and bumping into (not literally) other members of D/C groups.

Nice morning before the rain came.

Today we had a 'plan B' - Alison and Mel led a route around Rainowlow, Billinge and Savio - a group of 9 runners today.

The rain held off and everybody ran well ...good views, good banter!

Saturday 6th February - Middlewood Mincing or a Ridge too far

The start (missing Mel and Kelly)
Wet. Mud. Hills. 9 D group runners - tick.

Today numbers were down as a lot of people are running Alsager 5 on Sunday (wise folk). The weather was...unkind...but that did not deter a good warm up, good banter, good running.

Well done chaps...
