Saturday 13th September - Bridges Ridges and Canals......

Today six strong willed runners,  tackled 6.95 miles of bridges ridges and canals on a beautiful September morning.

Starting at the Bollin Valley Riverside car park, the group ran via Manchester Road,  through the houses up to the Middlewood Way. Crossing the Silk Road bridge and canal bridge, we continued across the farm track to Kerridge Cenotaph, then up "Neils Hill" to join the ridge at Windmill Lane.

After a couple of tough ascents, some jelly sweets and downhill were much appreciated, as well as the sightings of black sheep and buzzards.

Finally, after a last climb up Well Lane, we descended down Hurdsfield Road onto the canal, welcomed by ducks and a heron. The shorter ending was dismissed in favour of a continuation of the Middlewood way and around Summerlea Close for one final slope!

All made it back, a bit damper, but with smiles on faces.  For those of your still doubting your ability, I am delighted to point out that all bar one mile was done at a pace of less than 10 min a mile and one clocked in at 7.42!.

An absolutely fantastic effort and well done to all of you!
