Today, with a busy weekend of running ahead, including Bollington 3
Peaks and Manchester 10k, Six D groupers undertook the "Oakenbank
Odyssey".
In cool moist and windy conditions, on a
route not dissimilar to the Rainow 5, we headed out from Smithy lane,
across track & field, into Bollington, to ascend up to the lovely
waterfall at Ingersley Vale.
From there the group took
the steep steps up to the glorious White Nancy, newly painted for the
Waterloo celebrations and then headed off the ridge, back down to
explore the fields between the two locations.
After
avoiding some curious cows, we passed the "we dont know what it is" and
headed back over the paved fields to our original destination.
A
shorter but hillier route with challenging terrain, lots of circling
and a few well earned photo opp stops, the post race marmalade cake (
thanks Ali) and tea were very much appreciated.
WELL DONE ALL.
