Saturday 30th December - Swanscoe Swagger

Today 13 D groupers set out for the last group run of 2017, with a Swanscoe Swagger.

In milder conditions than of late, we strode out onto the Middlewood way and then onto a rather lake like farm track to Kerridge. Up Neil's hill  ( excellent looping here ) and around to Ridgeway, there were buzzards to spot ( including one in a field ) and new territory to be ran for some.

A long descent down Hursdfield road concluded our jaunt. Hangovers were cured and cheese consumption combated.

Saturday 23rd December - Middlewood & canal meander

A huge group of D & E runners (28 in total) did a very sociable run up the Middlewood and canal, returning via the fields and farm track. A good pace was set with the group running well together. A mixture of terrain and much hilarity with alpaca spotting too! Well done everyone, great running!

Saturday 16th December - Christmas Run - Macc Forest

Today 21 very intrepid D group runners (fully adorned as Santas and Elves) headed off for a very cold and wintry Forest 5...lots of snow (on the ground and in the air) but with lots of careful running all 21 got round without mishap. The post run cake, mince pies, sweets, coffee etc were much needed.

Saturday 9th December - ParkRun or DIY

There are festive activities (D group Party on Friday 8th December) and trail races (Fell Handicap on 10th December) this weekend so there will be NO leader lead D run on Saturday 9th December.

Perhaps try a local ParkRun (run or volunteer) or just DIY.

Saturday 2nd December - Bollington - Swanscoe loop

Today 22 D group runners headed off from the Skate Park on a 5.4 mile Swanscoe Loop. This week a number of E group runners came along to try a D group run and everybody did really well. We hope to see you again on more D runs (Wed/Fri/Sat). The weather was mixed - damp, grey and very muddy. The run ended in true Macc Harriers style with lots of cake provided by E group as part of their fund raising 'Elf Run' - thanks to everybody who helped to organise the event!
