A lovely morning it was too for a gavotte around Gawsworth! 13 eager runners, some of whom had run or cycled to the start point, ran the route from the Harrington Arms, across fields, canal path and country lanes.
The route although flatish, is quite challenging across rough fields, but the group ran well and pretty speedily! Luckily there was no repeat performance from the lairy cows of our recce. That would have been a test of our speed!
Thanks and well done everyone, what a great start to a Saturday morning!

A blog to keep the members of Macclesfield Harriers Trail Group (Saturday 9.00am Trail Running session) informed about our future runs. We run at a pace of 8m30s -11m00s/mile and have a standard run of about 4-6 miles (depends upon terrain) and also longer runs. Ideally you should be capable of running 5k in under 30 minutes to run with the Trail group. If you want to try out the Saturday group contact group leader Neil Gunn at neil.gunn@gmail.com or just come along for a run!

Saturday 16th June Reservoir Rounds
Eight D Groupers set out for a Reservoir Round, starting at the Fairways garden centre, on a rather damp morning. Great to see a new face for our Saturday group and two returning ones too!
A swift pace was set up the canal to Fools Nook, for the first obligatory bridge pic and then up Leek Old road and a bit of circling - well done everyone, not one walker! A lovely loop of Sutton Reservoir with a buzzard spot in the middle.
Next its into the village via the copse and fields - second obligatory bridge pic - no mud! Finally, a loop of Parvey Lane back for tea and chat.
A great run, thanks to all.

Saturday 9th June - Bollin Banger
Today a select group of D runners undertook a warm and dry Bollin Banger. Beginning at Riverside park, the pace was set early along the path to the fields.
Following the trail of the river, the group passed the longhorns and stopped for an obligatory bridge pic, before heading into Prestbury village. A traverse of the fields to Tytherington golf course and a speedy passage passed the early golfers, meant we hit Dorchester way and the welcome shade of Tytherington woods in good time. An unscheduled stop for Geoff's shoe boulder, then back onto the Bollin Valley Way and back to the car park.
A great if not extremely warm run, well done.

Saturday 2nd June - Rainow Romp
This morning a select group of 7 non-Wincle-trouting D-Groupers ran a 5.5 mile Rainow Romp. The route took in Rainowlow, Harrop Fold, Berristall Hall and returned to Rainow via Alison’s favourite bridge and Ingersley Vale.
