Saturday 15th April - Rudyard Lake

A chilly spring morning at the Knot Inn, Rushton Spencer and 20 keen runners met for a loop of Rudyard Lake.

The first 2.7 miles was flat and straight, taking us alongside the lake where there were lots of rowers training. After a brief comfort break at the top of the lake we headed up into the woods, where yesterday's rain had muddied the path a little. A bit of undulation and some gorgeous views across the lake made it a memorable run.

Some excellent running from the group and great cow avoidance as we came down through the fields!!

Well done everyone, a fab start to the Easter weekend.

Saturday 8th April - Reversed Bridges and Ridges

Today, 13 then 8 then 9 D runners, did a 10k Bridges and Ridges route in Reverse.

Starting at Riverside car park, the group did a quick traverse over to Hursdfield Road. In glorious spring conditions, we all ran up and up and then a bit more up, before reaching Well Lane and heading to Swanscoe for some more ( you guessed it ) up.

The view on Windmill Lane was worth it and then the loop round Ridgeway to run DOWN "Neil's" hill. Back across the farm track to the Middlewood and return.

The sun certainly put a spring in everyone's step.

Well done all a really fab run

Saturday 1st April - Coffee Tavern 5

The start
Today saw 14 D group runners out (or was it 13 or even 12 ..oh, and 3 who ran solo) for a 'Coffee Tavern 5 (which Neil made a coffee Tavern 6 by adding a bit on). This was a tough route with mud, water, uphill, downhill and lots of wildlife. Mud mincing - we had a lot. Cattle-mincing (you know who you are) was epic. The post run tea/oatcakes and bacon butties was an 'interesting' experience which we will all dine on for months to come.

Well done everybody...
