A blog to keep the members of Macclesfield Harriers Trail Group (Saturday 9.00am Trail Running session) informed about our future runs. We run at a pace of 8m30s -11m00s/mile and have a standard run of about 4-6 miles (depends upon terrain) and also longer runs. Ideally you should be capable of running 5k in under 30 minutes to run with the Trail group. If you want to try out the Saturday group contact group leader Neil Gunn at neil.gunn@gmail.com or just come along for a run!

Meeting place |
Meet ready for a 6.15pm start at the skate park in Bollington (near the Vale Inn).
We will go up all three 'peaks' (Kerridge, White Nancy & the Nab) but we do miss out one small section of the route which is on private land.
It is about 7 miles with a lot of up and down. Trail shoes essential (and plenty of water if it is a hot evening).
Afterwards we will adjourn to the Vale Inn for refreshments (beer and food).

Saturday 22nd April - Wildboarclough Wander!
Today 18 D Groupers met at Standing Stone car park on a glorious morning for running.
A tough climb up Shutlingsloe at the start meant we soon got warm! Views were amazing at the top. After a steep descent down the grassy slope we were soon on the road for about a mile. Then over some lovely fields with a few sheep and more fantastic views.
Great running from everyone today. Well done!

Saturday 15th April - Rudyard Lake
A chilly spring morning at the Knot Inn, Rushton Spencer and 20 keen runners met for a loop of Rudyard Lake.
The first 2.7 miles was flat and straight, taking us alongside the lake where there were lots of rowers training. After a brief comfort break at the top of the lake we headed up into the woods, where yesterday's rain had muddied the path a little. A bit of undulation and some gorgeous views across the lake made it a memorable run.
Some excellent running from the group and great cow avoidance as we came down through the fields!!
Well done everyone, a fab start to the Easter weekend.
